Today's Confession...

If you're anything like me,you like to be in control of certain situations. Or, you at least like to have details. We like to know what's happening, when, and how. Especially when it requires us to make a move or a decision. We also have our own ideas of how we think things should go. We have our own plans and ideas, and we have our own ideas about the process of accomplishing those things. However, as we know and sometimes need to be reminded, "His thoughts are nothing like our thoughts, and His ways are far beyond anything we could imagine (Isaiah 55:8 NLT)". This means things won't always go the way we think they should, and some things just won't make sense according to our logic.

'Within your heart you can make plans for your future, but the Lord chooses the steps you take to get there.' Proverbs 16:9 TPT

God has a plan far better than anything we could come up with. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11). He will lead and guide us if we let Him. Psalms 139:10 TPT tells us "wherever we go, His hand will guide us and His strength will empower us". It's so much easier when we trust God's plan and refrain from taking on control and responsibility that never belonged to us in the first place.

So here's today's confession:

Lord, I release my need for control. I release my need for things to make sense. I choose faith. I choose to trust you. I trust your plan, your process and your timing. I believe you want what's best for me. I trust that will lead and guide me. You won't leave me hanging or steer me wrong. I will heed your instructions. I will move when you say move. When I'm confused or unsure, I will seek you for direction and clarity. I will trust in you with all of my heart instead of depending on my own understanding or the understanding of others. I will seek you in all that I do, and I trust that you will show me which path to take (Proverbs 3:5-6).
