Take the risk!

I recently did an interview and was asked about my thoughts on risks and risk-taking. To me, taking risks means stepping out of your comfort zone to make steps toward where you want to be and where you’re supposed to be. If you avoid taking risks to stay in your comfort zone, you place limits on how far you can go and what you’re able to accomplish.

Choosing faith over logic = A risk

Operating in faith can sometimes seem like a risk. It requires us to go against what we see or know and believe for the "impossible". There is a reason the Bible tells us not to lean on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). If we operate according to our logic only, we can allow what we see or what we know to keep us from thinking bigger or limit what we think is even possible. Then that keeps us from taking the necessary leaps (or risks) to get where we want to be. However, we must remember that nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37) and you can have whatever you ask for if you have faith (Matthew 21:22; Mark 11:24). God can do far more than we'll ever ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). So, push past yourself, choose faith, and take the risk! Who knows what's on the other side!
