It won't always make sense: Abraham

There are a few points in Abraham's story that will make you say "wait, what??" or "how sway?! 🤨" lol

Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!” - Genesis 15:5 NLT

When God said this to Abraham, he had no children. He had already accepted that a servant would be his heir since he had none of his own. He later has a son but it's not the one God promised. At 99 Abraham still doesn't have the "promised son" but God promises he will be the "father of many nations". How?

Fast forward. Abraham finally gets the son God promised, and then God instructs him to sacrifice that son as a test of his faith (Genesis 22:2 NLT). What?! That's crazy!! But, because Abraham trusted God so much, he was willing to do it. As a result, he didn't actually have to sacrifice his son and he was blessed (Genesis 22:16‭-‬18 NLT).

Whew! What a journey!
